I thoroughly enjoyed my day with this sweet little babe… just 10 days old. His mommy has excellent taste in baby clothing - I LOVED this simple little sweater set that he wore at the beginning of the session… and I knew as soon as I clicked the shutter that this image would be my favorite:

Of course it wouldn’t be a newborn session without some bare baby photos, would it?
This is little Brett, surrounded by special family heirlooms; the blanket belonged to his Mommy when she was little, and the table was made by his grandfather who had passed away. I love to include sentimental items when I can… makes the image highly personal.

Don’t you just love the name Annalee? I had never heard it before meeting this precious baby girl. Annalee is a little over a month old, but we were still able to get “the shot” that her momma had her heart set on (baby laying on tummy with knees tucked underneath… bottom up in the air… can you visualize the cuteness??) BUT I decided to hold that one back and share a couple of different images for the sneak peek:

Have you ever seen hair like this on a newborn baby??? Really, little Alexis has more hair at 7 days old than my Jacob did at his first haircut at 15 months old.
I fell in love with this precious baby girl the moment I laid eyes upon her. Such perfect and delicate little features… and so content. See those dainty little fingers? Love them! Thanks to Alexis’ mom (and grandma) for letting me spend some time with you and your little miracle.

Is there anything sweeter than a little baby grin??

Elyssa… a year later | Hermitage, TN Baby Session

And what a difference a year makes! She was 2 weeks old here:

And just look at her now!

She’ll celebrate her first birthday surrounded by LOTS of friends and family next weekend. It’s so hard to believe that a whole year has passed!! Elyssa is part of a wonderful family - her mommy and daddy are so in love with her, and they are such amazing parents. Thanks to you both for allowing me to do what I love, and capture your baby girl during her first year.
Here’s another favorite of mine… so symbolic of her life at this stage. Venturing out from mom and dad just a little bit, gaining a little bit of independence every day.

Happy Birthday, Elyssa!! Love, Ms. Courtney

Look at this beautiful red-headed baby boy… doesn’t he just give you baby fever??
(Yes, I know I’m partial to redheads since I have one, but he really is a lovely baby!)
I had the most wonderful time capturing Ames this morning. His sweet “lulu” (aka grandmother) from Knoxville contacted me a couple months ago about photographing her new grandson when he arrived. I was so excited to get the call that he was here and ready for our session. Ames is blessed with an absolutely lovely family - I had the best time with them and felt like I was with old friends. It was so awesome – they went along with every crazy idea I wanted to try… and even had a few crazy ideas of their own!
These images are a little different for me – I was able to incorporate my white fur rug and take advantage of a window seat with the most amazing light. To Lani, Christin, Justin & Calee ~ thank you for sharing your time with me this morning. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
