Ava is One! | Mt. Juliet, TN Baby Session

One of my favorite babies has turned ONE… Miss Ava Shaye. It seems like just yesterday I was capturing pictures of her mommy & daddy in the days before her…as they awaited the answer to their prayer. I also had the privilege to capture her as a newborn, and then again at six months, and again yesterday. She has the most precious round face and beautiful blue eyes… I could just eat her up! Speaking of eating… she loves her some birthday cake (or “icing” to be more exact)! She had a definite plan of attack on how best to approach the icing - she would eat one little “dot” at a time… very lady-like. Until she went in face-first!
Mom & Dad - here is a tiny little peek to satisfy your curiosity. I have thoroughly enjoyed capturing your beautiful family over the past year… and feel truly honored that you chose me to capture your moments through my lens. XOXO - Courtney

Fall Flashback | Murfreesboro, TN Family Session

I don’t really do “family sessions”, per se. Yes, I do incorporate family at most every session, but I consider myself much more adept to capture a single subject (specifically babies from birth to age one). However, last year I said “yes” to a family who asked me to photograph them with their beautiful children (then in 4th and 6th grades). It was sort of a test, if you will… and I was quick to tell them that there were no promises as this was unchartered territory for me.
I was unable to share the images on the blog last year because they were surprising their families with portraits for Christmas. But with fall in full swing, I wanted to showcase them now. They’re a lovely family, don’t you agree??

My Guy @ Five

My son turned five back in July, but I hadn’t really gotten around to capturing new portraits of him until this past week. I’ve found that the older he gets, the harder it is to photograph him. Methinks it probably has something to do with having the camera in his face SO MUCH. I did get some captures of him that I love, and I wanted to share a few here with you so you can see the reason I picked up a camera in the first place… my Jacob.

And finally, Jacob in his Halloween costume… a CALCULATOR. What can I say?! The boy LOVES numbers.
