Fall Favorites ♥ Murfreesboro Children Photographer

November 13, 2009 | Filed Under Child | 1 Comment

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! I love the crisp air, the bright blue skies, the gorgeous colors and the sound of leaves blowing in the wind. It makes me want to hop in my car…sunroof open, music blasting… and just DRIVE. It’s also the perfect time to sneak in a session with my little man… who is especially handsome this time of year with that auburn hair. Here are just a few of my favorites…

My Guy @ Five

November 1, 2008 | Filed Under Child, Personal | 2 Comments

My son turned five back in July, but I hadn’t really gotten around to capturing new portraits of him until this past week. I’ve found that the older he gets, the harder it is to photograph him. Methinks it probably has something to do with having the camera in his face SO MUCH. I did get some captures of him that I love, and I wanted to share a few here with you so you can see the reason I picked up a camera in the first place… my Jacob. :)

And finally, Jacob in his Halloween costume… a CALCULATOR. What can I say?! The boy LOVES numbers. :)

Finn & Libby | Franklin, TN Toddler/Child Session

October 4, 2008 | Filed Under Child, Toddler | 3 Comments

I first captured little man Finn about a year ago, when he was 7 months old. Last time, he was sitting up in one spot or being held by his mama and daddy most of the time. He even took a little catnap while I was there. Let me just tell you how much a year changes things. :) He has since learned to walk… no, make that RUN… and I did my best to keep up!! Big sister Libby recently turned 5 and I was able to capture her this time around, too. One thing that has not changed is how lovely this family is.

Fran - hope you enjoy your sneak peek! Sorry to keep you in suspense. :)

Callie & Co. | Murfreesboro, TN Baby Session

September 29, 2008 | Filed Under Baby, Child | 2 Comments

I have been wanting to get my hands on this little babe for a while… and finally got my chance last week. Callie is the newest member of one of my favorite families. She is the happiest baby I’ve ever been around. AND she’s fallen asleep while I’ve held her on two different occasions, so I think that officially trumps her dad (gotcha, J!). :) I love her big blue eyes, her chubby little rolls, and her little blonde spot right up front. She is a total doll baby!

Ironically, it was big sister Sydney who was working the camera the most during my visit. This sweet girl completely captures my heart… I just love her. She brought out her princess stuff, her hair accessories… she even fixed MY hair.

And I can’t leave out big brother Noah - he is 100% all boy and keeps me up to date on the latest boy stuff. Star Wars? Check. Speed Racer? That too. I love how much he loves his toys. Not only that, both he and Sydney are completely smitten with baby Callie.

Spring Cleaning

May 9, 2008 | Filed Under Baby, Child | 1 Comment

I decided to do a bit of housekeeping around the blog in the name of “spring cleaning”. How do you like the lighter, brighter look of the blog? Honestly, I don’t have too much to say tonight as I’m getting everything ready to visit a sweet little client in the morning - but I wanted to test everything out.

I’ll be back on Friday afternoon with a sneak peek… but in the meantime, how about a couple of photographs? :)

These beautiful young ladies are my cousins, Zoe and Lexie. I headed east on I-40 to capture them on the farm where their grandmother grew up. Would you have guessed that they are twins??

I also captured their baby cousin and her mama - I think this one is sweet:

Mine at 4 & 1/2

4.5 years old, that is… quite a contrast from the babies I’ve been photographing lately. He’s most certain to add that significant ‘and a half’ if I say that he is ‘just’ 4.

I just wanted to share my little guy with you… some of you have asked about him and wonder how big he has gotten. I have been wanting to attempt this specific image for over a year now. It dawned on me that if I didn’t do it and SOON, that my Jacob would be too tall to hug his daddy’s leg and the moment would be lost.

Fall Fun | Sewanee, TN Child Session

October 27, 2007 | Filed Under Child, Toddler | 7 Comments

We took a road trip to the gorgeous campus of the University of the South in Sewanee for this photo session. It started out overcast in Murfreesboro when we headed out, but nothing too bad to deal with, right? Seven miles before our exit… still, no change… but maybe the sun will break though any minute. THEN we hit the Sewanee exit and it was pure fog… visibility only far enough to see the icy breath exit your mouth.  No joke.  BUT, we didn’t let that stop us. Plans had been made, cute coordinating clothing had been purchased, and we’d ridden in a van for an hour. That’s right… no turning back.

Here is just a tiny sneak peek for mom before bed. You’ll see the rest soon, friend… I promise. ;)

My Boy

I couldn’t resist slipping in a post featuring my son. Daddy brought him down to meet me in Sewanee after my session today (sneak peek to come soon). Here are a couple of quick favorites of my sweet boy…
