Have you ever seen hair like this on a newborn baby??? Really, little Alexis has more hair at 7 days old than my Jacob did at his first haircut at 15 months old. 
I fell in love with this precious baby girl the moment I laid eyes upon her. Such perfect and delicate little features… and so content. See those dainty little fingers? Love them! Thanks to Alexis’ mom (and grandma) for letting me spend some time with you and your little miracle.

Look at this beautiful red-headed baby boy… doesn’t he just give you baby fever??
(Yes, I know I’m partial to redheads since I have one, but he really is a lovely baby!)
I had the most wonderful time capturing Ames this morning. His sweet “lulu” (aka grandmother) from Knoxville contacted me a couple months ago about photographing her new grandson when he arrived. I was so excited to get the call that he was here and ready for our session. Ames is blessed with an absolutely lovely family - I had the best time with them and felt like I was with old friends. It was so awesome – they went along with every crazy idea I wanted to try… and even had a few crazy ideas of their own!
These images are a little different for me – I was able to incorporate my white fur rug and take advantage of a window seat with the most amazing light. To Lani, Christin, Justin & Calee ~ thank you for sharing your time with me this morning. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I’ve been wanting to meet this precious one for a few weeks now, and we were finally able to connect this morning. This is Chase at 5 weeks old… and I think an appropriate word for him would be “chunkalicious”! ; He was such a good boy for us this morning… he was sleeping so well that his mommy decided that she is going to get a beanbag for her house, b/c he was so content in mine during the session.
Capturing Chase’s newborn portraits was such an honor for me. His mom was one of my son’s teachers at Project HELP, and played a crucial role in his success in overcoming the speech delay he had as a toddler. She is a very dear friend to me and has been such a blessing to our entire family. We love you, Miss A!

This precious baby girl was amazing for me this morning. I captured her at 23 days old, and she pretty much put all of my “younger” newborns to shame. =) She slept right from the start of the session and made hardly a peep throughout the duration. She put up with much adjusting, touching and moving from me… and a little from proud big brother, Knox! A special thanks to her mom for wanting me to capture her newborn portraits… it was wonderful meeting your sweet family. Here are a couple of quick favorites from today…
Completely Custom

One of my favorite things to do for my clients is to create something that is unique… a one-of-a-kind piece that they will enjoy looking at on their walls each day. I wanted to share a couple of my favorite custom pieces from the past couple of months.
First is a custom art canvas that I created, with help from the baby’s father. He is a talented musician, and when I found out that he had written a song just for his baby girl, I knew I wanted to incorporate that somehow. So dad wrote the lyrics out and sent me a scan of his handwriting. I was able to combine his lyrics with my image and some artistic embellishments to create this beautiful piece. I printed it as a 20×24 gallery wrapped canvas, and the finished product looked AMAZING! I asked mom to send me a picture of it when they hang it on the wall… but in the meantime, this is the design that was printed:
This next one was originally shown to the client as a birth announcement design. The mom had already sent out announcements, but loved what I had worked up. So she had the great idea to print the “announcement” as an 11×14 wall portrait to display in the baby’s nursery. I think she’s a genius… I love this idea:

This sweet baby girl was born a little over 3 weeks ago, and I finally got to get my hands on her today! She’s the baby girl of a dear friend of mine from back home, and I couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to have captured her newborn images. She is still itty bitty and we were able to get her to sleep a few times, amidst all the things that babies do when they are naked for an extended period (use your imagination here, people). =)
Here are just a couple of quick favorites from our session:
Izzy struck her “Walk Like An Eqyptian” pose. I tried to fiddle with her left hand to get it on her tummy… and she immediately drew it back into this position. Too cute… I just went with it. She’s the boss, afterall!

Can you believe all these beautiful bebes I get to capture? I even get to hold some of them, too! =) Not only that, their families are a joy to meet and work with. I think I’m officially the luckiest photographer on the planet. =)
This is little Miss Taylor at 3 weeks+1day. Once this sweet one got into sleep mode, she was OUT to the world. Here are just a couple to share:

This is the sweet young lady I spent some time with today. She was born the day after Christmas… if that’s not the best present you can get, I just don’t know what is!
